Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay. It's the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest! You will have a choice of snorkel equipment to snorkel from the white sandy beaches or to stay dry and see the island's reef from the glass bottom boat. Enjoy a walk through the lush rainforest.

We went over on a locals special with a really good discount, Absolutely loved the glass bottom boat tour. Our guide was funny and witty and very knowledgeable and informative. Great viewing of coral even on low tide and saw plenty of fish. We took our own lunch and made a day of it with a walk around and plenty of relaxing and checked out Cassius at the museum too. The resort did smell strongly of ammonia (from bats or birds) but overall we loved the day.

That’s for selling us a trip that didn’t exist!! We got contacted the day of our boat trip at 8.25 to inform us the 10.30 time didn’t exist abs could we be there for 8.30? Bit impossible with 3 small kids!!! We managed to find a time on our last day in cairns - lucky!! But cannot understand how you’re allowed to sell times that don’t run and obviously don’t communicate with the boat company at all. NOT HAPPY!

We were well informed the whole trip & every staff was very helpful.. the island was magnificent. It’s a shame it rained but we still enjoyed the surrounding…we could stay there all day.

Glass bottom boat tour with our guide Jesse, awesome experience. Pity it wasn't longer 😪 Only disappointment was couldn't get a coffee on the island after 11am

I have young children who can’t snorkel and thought the glass bottom boat would give them a good view of the reef. But we only went over sea grass and saw a few fish. Super disappointed.

Umm.. I was very surprised going off previous reviews. There definitely needs to be a boat leaving at least every two hours. We got the 10:30 trip and were ready to leave 30 mins after arriving but had to wait until 4:30 to get the boat back! We just wandered back and forth dying of heat hoping time would move quicker so we could get out of there! The one food shop is way over priced and everyone was just crammed into the tiny pool swimming around which I could of done at my resort lol. Terrible experience, we did see some fish though.. lol

Used Eco Adventure to visit Green Island from Cairns, staff were professional and helpful. Green Island itself is simply beautiful, clear water stunning sand, very idyllic place. However, I visited in March, 2021, and 2/3 of the facilities were closed or out of order. All of the cafes were closed except one, and the Dive centre, that was it, unless you were staying in the Resort. Nothing else was open! Very disappointed. However, I still enjoyed the snorkelling and my day on the Island, but it could have been sooooo much better.

Great Adventures were professional and friendly. The boat was nice and staff very polite and friendly. The booking was easy and administration staff beautiful to deal with by email ( I had lots of booking questions). I think their booking site however could be updated with the new Covid restrictions and information. Top service and would highly recommend the day tour. With Covid restrictions a lot of the restaurants on the island are closed with limited menu so I encourage you to take your own food if you have dietary requirements. If your looking for a peaceful day this tour is for you. Plenty of time to get around the island, check out the museum and snorkel and swim all on your own time. Perfect for the kids as its not a busy place at the moment and there is plenty of room for them to run around safely.

Fantastic day trip out to Green Island despite the weather looking a bit grey on the way out. Good quality snorkel gear provided although stinger suits hired separately (hint: get there straight off the boat to get the newer suits!) Was looking forward to trying parasailing but didn’t realise you needed to book on the boat. When I headed over to the pier at lunch time they had gone home for the day, gutted! The pool is lovely as is the beach. If you want good snorkelling don’t bother with the beach, head over to the left side of the pier towards where the pier branches out to the left. Amazing corals and fish there, I saw a huge turtle too! 😍 Definitely worth a trip out
